AREN'T BLACK AND WHITE
Alec's words were exactly what he needed to hear; the assurance that he did not have to prove himself to the other; words of love they had for each other. Even though he had indeed given that piece of DNA. But Magnus also knew that there was no one else he wished to be with. No matter how . . . different their words were. No matter how their duties would pull them to make decisions.
It could be so . . . simple, to be with another. To have embraced Dorothea and been with a Downworlder who faced the same oppression from the Clave. But, that wasn't where Magnus' heart was. Nor was it anywhere remotely near what he wanted. Easing out of the kiss, Magnus' hand reached for Alec's hand, casually taking it in his own as his gaze fell down at their joined hands for a moment before looking back up into Alec's eyes. "Are you able to stay for a bit?" He asked, trying not to be too hopeful for he knew the other had his duties. And with the recent tension between them . . . Magnus knew it would help if they could spend some time together now. Move on from what had happened.
