Appearance

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Magnus has dark hair which he styles in various forms (often elevating it to create a sort of spiked effect). He always wears makeup, his eyes outlined with dark liner and sometimes shadow to further emphasize them. He is constantly decorated with a variety of jewelry, inclusive of ear cuffs, rings, hand pieces, necklaces, and so on. He is also almost always seen with nail polish on his finger nails, usually darker colors such as black. His attire is just as eccentric, dressing in form fitting and well tailored clothing of unique style. He enjoys sparkles, and elaborate outfits that are often very put together and display a over the top nature of style.

One of his most distinct features -- apart from his jewelry, hair, make up, and attire -- are his cat eyes. When using magic, his eyes will often alter from their natural brown color to a yellow golden one. He does not always have control over this, as sometimes he loses it and its practically impossible to have them revert back to his natural color.

Personality

BASIC PERSONALITY: With hundreds of years of life experience, Magnus is extremely intelligent, well versed, adaptable, and highly resourceful. He is cunning and only offers his Warlock services in exchange for something else. Everything comes at a price. Or well, it used to be that way. Magnus was once very distrusting of Shadowhunters, with the tensions that existed between them and Downworlders. But once again, that has eventually changed. He has shown himself to be compassionate, highly loyal and devoted to those that he cares about. Those that often fall into this category is his Warlock family, and his lovers. After what happened with Camille however, he closed himself off and raised his guards, unable to open himself up to the possibility of love again . . . until a certain Shadowhunter entered his life.

Magnus engages in the pleasures of life. His past dalliances, extravagant lifestyle, and hobbies quite reflective of that. He can be quite charming, charismatic, and flirtatious. He is used to getting what he wants, and will often pursue it by any means necessary. With a history of 17000 lovers, it is clear he enjoys the company of them with no discrimination between genders or groupings. Magnus has a strong sense of devotion and loyalty, offering protection where needed, and has come to lending aid in times of need without sole thoughts of payment in return.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Magnus is considered one of the most powerful Warlocks. His magical abilities include things such as opening portals, casting spells, creating potions, performing summoning rituals, healing and memory magic, and so on. He is also immortal, and thus does not age nor will die from old age. As stated previously, he is also high resourceful and possesses a great deal of knowledge of the world and the groups among it.

WEAKNESSES: Magnus' immortality is also a weakness, as he has often had to watch the people he loves die. His magical abilities are also limited in certain regards, and he can be reliant on his spell book, which poses a danger should his book be in the wrong hands. Another weakness of Magnus' tends to be his emotions. He has struggled in the past of opening his heart up and continues to struggle at times in battling between the people he loves, for instance, his family and the person he loves.

History

BIRTHPLACE: What is now Indonesia.

FAMILY: Only family of heart remains.

OCCUPATION: High Warlock of Brooklyn.

HISTORY: Magnus had a very difficult childhood. His mother claimed  her own life when she saw what her son was; a yellow eyed demon. The sight of it traumatized Magnus, internalizing her death. Things went from bad to worse when he killed his step father. This thrust Magnus into a state of loneliness and isolation as he attempted to understand who he was: what he was. Over the course of the next several years, Magnus traveled to various countries, adapting to the world and discovering the one beyond what meets the eyes. He developed relationships with others, both friendships and romantic ones. The latter more often than not resulting in heartbreak. The most significant one being Camille. Magnus had been at a point in his life where the isolation was too much, and he sought to take his own life.Camille had found him and made him feel as if someone could actually care about him, despite what he was.

He fell in love with her, but her own personality and tendencies eventually led to a devastating heart break and after that Magnus closed himself off from loving anyone in a romantic way. Part of him will always be grateful and even somewhat loyal to her for what she did for him. But protecting his people and the law itself eventually trumped such feelings. The next several years he strove to protect Downworlders, especially Warlocks, and offered his services when needed, for instance to Jocelyn when she wished to wipe Clary's memory. Nearly after a century of this continued work and keeping his walls raised an individual by the name of Alec Lightwood, managed to break down his guard. His relationship with Magnus changed the Warlock's mindsets about a lot of things, particularly Shadowhunters. And thus, a new era for him begins . . .
